United State of Insanity

One of my big rants from a Facebook discussion. Reprinted for your amusement or something…

Topic:  Who’s to blame for the National Debt – Republicans or Democrats?

You can’t fix something if you don’t understand the problem. The federal government takes in roughly 50% of the income earned in the US through income taxes and social security and various other taxes and fees.

They spend it all every year, then borrow billions more to cover all the entitlements, wars, regulating, bailouts, Katrina trailers, corporate and agricultural subsidies, state dinners with hyper exotic mole sauce and butterfly swarms, Nancy Pelosi’s weekly 10,000 dollar in-flight alcoholic beverage tab, Michael Steele’s S&M Strip Club bills, etc.

As is, the federal government is a colossal and immoral waste of money.  Both the Democrats and Republicans are to blame – and have been for at least a century.  Even now, when we are on the edge of financial collapse, neither side wants the party to end.  Only a handful of the Republicans actually want to stop the spending, the rest just talk the talk, but don’t walk the walk.  The Democrats don’t even bother talking the talk.  They think they can borrow, tax and spend their way to prosperity.

In the end, we have an elite political class that live like kings as they screw up the world for the rest of us.  And when we question them, they point their fingers at the “greedy” Wall Street traders, oil companies, and insurance companies.  Never mind that those industries are heavily regulated and invested in by the same politicians that use them for scapegoats.

And when they’ve screwed the pooch and the economy tanks, what do they do?  They alternate preaching to us that we should tighten our belts AND that we should go out and borrow money so we can buy expensive cars or houses to prop up the car companies and union contractors.

The whole thing is insane and it just cannot last much longer.

Completely insane

I'm from the government. I'm here to help.

Which is why we need the Tea Party people to win lots of seats in both houses. The problem has been people from both parties trying to get re-elected.

By the way, I think I have a mancrush on Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey. Awesome!
