James Carville Switcheroo

James Carville is a Democratic Strategist,  famous for his work with Bill and Hillary Clinton and his aggressive attacks on the G. W. Bush administration.  Personally,  I always believed him to be a vicious partisan who would say anything – no matter how farcical – to praise Democrats and vilify Republicans.   Now – much to my surprise – he’s criticizing the over-regulation of the oil industry by the federal government.  He goes so far as to say that Washington politicians don’t know anything about the economy of the Gulf states and that the drilling moratorium is “killing” businesses in the region.   The way he’s talking now,  he sounds more conservative than a lot of Republican politicians.  He sounds like a Tea Party activist.

Before you ask – Yes.  I’m skeptical.   Maybe he’s just playing the angles for a Hillary Clinton primary challenge.   However, it is quite possible that he really does care about the Gulf states and is taking a principled stand.  Whatever the reason, I have to admit that James Carville is right on this issue.  Atta Boy, Mr. Carville!

Perhaps as a New Orleans native, Mr. Carville recognizes the fact of how many more jobs in his home state are going to be lost due to the policies of this nightmare administration.
