Unemployment Over Time
The Democrats took control over Congress in 2006. They rode in with their heads held high and filled our ears with the promise that they’d reverse the disastrous policies of George W. Bush. In October of 2008 they drafted the TARP bailout legislation. A beaten and humbled President G. W. Bush signed it into law. The next month, President Obama won in a landslide – partially on the promise that he’d reverse the disastrous policies of George W. Bush.
No one can doubt that President Obama and the Democrats have succeeded in fulfilling that promise on the financial front. The final nail in the coffin of the “Bad Old Days” will be when the Bush Tax Cuts expire in December. Surely then the Democrats’ New Golden Age will be upon us.
But I see no reason to wait until December to praise the Democrats’ grand success. And so, I present you with this video – The Decline: The Geography of a Recession by LaToya Egwuekwe – that graphically illustrates what four years of the Democratic Party’s control of Congress has done to improve America.
An amazing sight to behold. Now just imagine what the Democrats could accomplish with another six years of control of Congress and the White House. Happy days are here again!
Ugh. I think I’m going to be sick.
