Nancy Pelosi wants pre-election tax cut vote

The little people should be grateful. I'm only making them do what is best for them. If they continue to whine, I will have to lower their cake rations for the month.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi wants a vote before November elections on whether to extend tax cuts for those with annual income over $250,000 a year, she said in an interview broadcast on Sunday.

“The tax cuts for the wealthiest … (with income of) $250,000 and above, were the Bush initiative,” Pelosi said on ABC’s “This Week,” referring to former President George W. Bush.

“I don’t see any reason why we should renew a tax cut that only gives a tax cut to the wealthiest people in America, increases the deficit, and doesn’t create jobs,” Pelosi. “That doesn’t make any sense.”

Asked directly whether she would push for a House vote before the November 2 election on whether to extend tax cuts for the middle class while letting those for wealthier citizens expire, Pelosi replied, “It would be my hope.”

She said nearly $300 billion in economic stimulus funds were middle class tax cuts.

“The Republicans want to have the tax cuts and they want it unpaid for, $700 billion added to the deficit for an initiative that does not create jobs,” Pelosi said.

What this illustrates isn’t merely dishonesty, it sho0ws that The Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, does not understand the Constitutional role of Congress nor the way taxation works in America.  By claiming that a tax cut was unpaid for she reveals that she believes she is royalty – or maybe just a dictator.  Only the ruler of a monarchy would believe that private citizens’ income belongs to the government, and letting them keep more of it costs the government.

Americans are free to work or not work, and any money we earn belongs to us.  We have the right to keep it.  We deserve to keep it.  Government is our servant and we pay taxes so it will do what we want it to do.  We do not serve government.  Government should not attempt to make us do what it wants.

Regardless of their intentions, Nancy Pelosi and the other politicians that think like her are tyrants.  They either do not understand the Constitution or they do not care.  This is an unforgivable failure for any of our representatives.  They have betrayed the American people on the most basic level.  They do not deserve to represent us.   We need to eject them from Congress when their terms are up.
